The
Fairmont-Clarksburg Division of the Monongahela-West Penn Railways ran a
route north out of Fairmont to the town of Rivesville, WV. The
tracks paralleled the Monongahela River to Rivesville Power Station at the
north end of town. The Picture below, is looking north on in
Rivesville. The photographer of this picture is unknown(8).
It must have been taken around the end of service during the City Lines of
West Virginia ownership. The car appears to be heading toward the end of
the line at the power station. Around that area was Rivesville
Junction, where cars ran to Fairview on the what was originally called the
Fairmont & Northern Traction Company(11/2001) |
