The
Fairmont-Clarksburg Division of the Monongahela-West Penn Railways ran a
route north out of Fairmont to the town of Rivesville, WV. The
tracks paralleled the Monongahela River to Rivesville Power Station at the
north end of town. The Picture below, is looking south on Jasper
Street in Rivesville, just below Route 19 were the cars left the prw.
At the end of this street parts of the bridge crossing the
creek below still exist. Around that area was Rivesville Junction,
where cars ran to Fairview on the what was originally called the Fairmont
& Northern Traction Company(7)(11/2001) |
